David Bryant, Liberal Democrat councillor for Helland, near Bodmin, will be forced to stand down after magistrates yesterday found him guilty of attacking Sarah Townrow, 40, a fellow Cornwall councillor, and her boyfriend David Cowen, an art gallery owner, after following them down a moonlit country lane in January.
