Summary
By some odd coincidence David Pedrick-Friend's letter "Good news from Labour" (May 10) boasting, among other things, of "high employment and a strengthening economy", was followed on Page 12 by "6,000 NTL jobs to go after merger" and on Page 13 by "1,200 jobs to go as Littlewoods closes three warehouses" and "Production of HP Sauce moves to the Netherlands", which is likely to result in the loss of 125 jobs.
This has been happening quite a lot lately. The numbers may not be great or eye-catching like the lost Peugeot jobs - a large contributing factor to which is our EU membership - but they add up and are a blow to those concerned.See the full content of this document
