Despite only taking a point, when it seemed there were three points ready to be taken from a Wrexham side who had lost their manager on the morning of the game, the Gulls' boss was pleased with his side's display.

The game was in danger of becoming a sideshow to problems that came to a head at the Racecourse Ground on Saturday morning. Brian Little had departed, much to the pleasure of the home support, and his former assistant Brian Carey and first-team coach Martin Foyle took charge and made several changes to the team that lost at home to Rushden & Diamonds on Tuesday.
