"PENSIONER puts up electric fence in bid to stop yobs" (WMN, September 30). Yet another example, on our own patch in the South West, of the complete failure of Government policy over 12 years and of the police to combat this increasing terrorism on the streets of this country - not by fundamentalist fanatics but by groups of young white youths.

Gordon Brown would like us to vote him back into office at the election while, as we know, our local police have already written to MPs asking them to ensure their salaries are increased, not cut or stabilised.
