Here has been breathtaking ineptitude, arrogance that even Muhammad Ali would blush at and more plonkers than a wine-tasting convention. Yet still, after two full series, The Apprentice still leaves me utterly dumbstruck.

By the end of most episodes of the BBC's hit television show, I've bitten my fingernails all the way down to my elbow. Truly, it is the most addictively cringeworthy turn on the box.
