Summary
In reply to Dr D R Cooper's letter (December 16) I would like to ask why the Queen should not recognise the degree of opposition to the European "Constitution" - aka Treaty of Lisbon - and say to her Prime Minister:
"You promised the electorate a referendum, now hold one, and if there is a majority in favour of accepting the treaty then I will sign the Bill enacting it. If the vote goes against then I will not sign and there must be a General Election."See the full content of this document
