Stepping into The Go! Team's world is an assault on the senses. As anyone familiar with 2004's breakthrough single Ladyflash knows, the band's line in hyperactive, fluorescent pop songs are steeped in childhood nostalgia, coated in sugar and informed by everything from Northern Soul to B-movie soundtracks and Neneh Cherry.
It's an exhausting listen, but always in a good way. Buried beneath layers of street-smart samples and titanic beats, The Go! Team's sound is a one-off.
