Summary
The Paignton Branch of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution benefited by Pounds 568 from the annual open competition staged by Paignton Sea Anglers' Association in support of its favourite charity. The overall best specimen prize went to a spotted ray of 5- 12-15 brought to the scales by Mark Loewy, but his success was a close-run thing as his fish was less than 1 per cent in arrears of a greater spotted dogfish weighing 12-10-8 by Keith Nathan for which he received the best boat-caught fish award.
Gary Sims had a greater spotted dogfish of 12-0-7 and this clinched the best selachii category prize. Other awards were: ladies - F Dack (lesser spotted dogfish 1-13-12); best fish shore - J Short (golden grey mullet 2-4-0); best junior - N Allen (lesser spotted dogfish 2-2-6); best fish harbours, piers, breakwaters - S Doidge (ballan wrasse 5-3-10).See the full content of this document
