Another weekend and another surf contest casualty. The Billabong British Junior Championships were called off last week and rescheduled for next month However, one event that ran - and took place in near-perfect conditions - was the Oxbow Sunset Surf Classic longboard event at Gwithian.

The fifth and final contest of the Oxbow British Longboard Union Series, the competition was called on by Minnow Green who felt that the swell would arrive for the event on Saturday. Not only did the shoulder-high waves prove ideal, but the sun shone as well.
