Did Map-Maker Stop Off at the Hand and Pen? ; Dartmoor Book Fair, Tavistock

Summary

Everyone has an opinion on Marmite - it is either loved or loathed, but impossible to ignore.

The latter can be said of the cookbook by Paul Hartley, a copy of which is available with the brightest of jackets on Graham York's stand at tomorrow's Dartmoor Book Fair in Tavistock. Produced by the Absolute Press, this small oblong 4to has 80 pages containing 52 recipes, all with colour illustrations for a very modest Pounds 5. It was produced in 2003 so the colours were not added later, unlike the two prints of Berry Pomeroy Castle by the London lithographers, Newman & Co. These were tinted by hand, circa 1848, and were part of a series of ten, all 13 x 9in, of views in Torbay and are in excellent condition when priced Pounds 300.
