Of the old hulks that litter many of our estuaries in the Westcountry, most have just been quietly abandoned by their owners and left to rot. Those with wooden hulls gently fall to bits to make perfect subjects for the numerous artists throughout the region, but larger ships contain valuable scrap metal, which is where the copper for the plaque commemorating Lord Nelson came from on Cloud Cuckoo Land's stand at tomorrow's fair in Lostwithiel. Featuring a portrait of the great man and his most famous speech of "England expects that every man will do his duty", together with an image of his ship, etc it costs Pounds 120.
Bijou Jewellery will show a French miniature bronze bust of a woman with a hat balanced on the back of her head. Although only 4in tall, this enchanting ornament is priced Pounds 185 and has on the body the name "Vera" and believed to date from the 1880s.See the full content of this document
