May Gurney Profits Up 21% to Pounds 8.5m

CIVIL engineering and maintenance group May Gurney has reported pre-tax profits up 21 per cent to Pounds 8.5 million for the first six months of this year.

The company - which has bases in Bodmin, Exeter, Plymouth, Plymstock and St Austell and about 850 South West employees - said long-term prospects were good, with a "record" Pounds 1.4 billion forward order book.
