Dairy Crest has announced that it will increase the price it pays suppliers on its standard liquid contract by 0.42ppl from August 1. Milk procurement director Mark Taylor said: "We have worked closely with Dairy Crest Direct to improve understanding of the key factors affecting this extremely competitive sector.
"Dairy Crest has limited exposure to the recent volatility seen in the commodity sector, as we have increasingly pursued a strategy of adding value and reducing risk. As a consequence, we have not experienced the inflation in commodity markets, providing windfall gains, but equally when markets are depressed our suppliers are not as adversely affected."See the full content of this document
