The poignant figure on a military monument in Exeter has inspired a rehabilitation group member in the city to write a moving tribute to those killed in war.
Steve Gill wrote his poem, entitled Stone Bronze And Steel, after looking at the war memorial in Rougemont Park. At the time Steve was attending Stories Connect, a rehabilitation group which uses writing and photography as a way of helping vulnerable and troubled people to improve their lives.See the full content of this document
