A teenager was riding at twice the speed limit when his motorcycle and a car collided as they both tried to overtake a van, an inquest has heard.
Fred "Gumbo" Smith, 19, was thrown from his Suzuki motorcycle when it collided with a Ford Escort on Harrington Lane, Exeter, on June 10 last year. He was taken to the Royal Devon & Exeter hospital with severe head injuries and died the same day.See the full content of this document
