The winemaking nation that most deserves a New Year's honour for 2012 is Germany. While I suppose we should be crediting them with keeping the European economy afloat, what we most need to thank the Germans for is producing the entire Continent's best white wines.
Of course we won't. Nobody is grateful to the Germans. But this does not alter the miraculous nature of the wines.See the full content of this document
