Obama to Forgo Public Funding

Summary

Barack Obama is "just another typical politician who will do and say whatever is most expedient" for him, a spokesman for his Republican presidential rival John McCain said yesterday. The criticism came as Mr Obama said he would bypass the US federal public financing system in November's general election, abandoning an earlier commitment to take the money if McCain did.
