Two paedophiles who sexually abused young girls in the 1960s and 70s have failed in a bid to challenge their convictions. Top judges heard 65-year-old Bernard Leslie Watts and Robert Alan Hodgkins, 69, were both jailed for eight years after being convicted of a number of sex crimes last year.
Watts, of Bradham Court, Exmouth, Devon, was found guilty of rape and indecent assault and Hodgkins, of Morton Road, Harvington, Kidderminster, was convicted at Birmingham Crown Court on July 9 of seven charges of indecent assault and one of attempted rape. The two men yesterday appeared, via video link from prison, at London's Criminal Appeal Court to challenge the jury's verdicts.See the full content of this document
