Summary
LIKE hundreds of pensioners and others I frequently read the newspaper at libraries around Cornwall, and am very upset to hear that the provision of daily papers is to end in January throughout the county, to save a paltry Pounds 20,000 a year - not enough to cover the employment costs of one person.
I'm sure that when Mr Passmore-Edwards provided funds in the late 1800s to give Cornwall many of our libraries, he never intended that pensioners would ever be driven out for the want of a newspaper.See the full content of this document
