A Westcountry-based Royal Marine killed in an explosion in Afghanistan was a "perfectionist" who prided himself on being the best, his widow has said.

Corporal Stephen Curley, from Taunton-based 40 Commando Royal Marines, died while on foot patrol in Helmand on Wednesday. The 26- year-old lived in Exeter with his wife Kirianne and their five- month-old son William.
