Tribute to Penlee Crew Gains Worldwide Recognition

Summary


A piece of music which began as a tribute to eight brave Cornish lifeboatmen who lost their lives in the Solomon Browne disaster is rapidly gaining a worldwide reputation.

Penlee, composed by Simon Dobson, was originally commissioned by Cornwall Youth Brass Band and received its public premiere at St Michael's Church in Newquay in December 2008.
