Cornwall's inspirational sea-encircled landscape must surely be the perfect destination for International Lifesaving (ILS) to hold Rescue 2010, the World Life Saving Championships.

With London securing the honour of hosting the London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games comes the reshaping of British political agendas and priorities; in particular a commitment to a Nations and Regions programme ensuring benefit and inclusion throughout the land. This is perfect timing and a perfect fit for Surf Life Saving Great Britain (SLSGB) and its ambition to host Rescue 2010, one of the world's largest sporting events with 4,000 athletes from 40 nations worldwide two years before the Olympics. This weekend, after 18 months of preparation, the Rescue 2010 GB Bid team will parade its submission to host the Championships before the ILS Evaluation Inspectors.
