FOR the second Tuesday in a row, Plymouth Argyle manager Paul Sturrock felt the need to criticise his team's standard of defending after a dispiriting defeat.

Seven days after their Carling Cup exit at Gillingham, the Pilgrims suffered their first Coca-Cola Championship loss of the season. Argyle were beaten 3-1 at Home Park last night by a very accomplished Cardiff City side, for whom Pounds 4 million striker Michael Chopra fired a hat-trick.
