Summary
On reading the Alice Band column (November 19), I feel that I must reply and encourage her to count her blessings. Yes, ceilings do fall down, children do get sick, but there will come a time when they have left home and you don't even know they are ill until after the event.
It does get worse as you and the children get older - you no longer have the school run and the chats/support outside the school gates, but still your family come home at the end of the day. You have to take to and collect from the after-school clubs/music lessons etc - you are very glad when they are safely in bed and at last you can sit down.See the full content of this document
