Summary
Agreeing with a Government minister is a rare occurrence, but I agree with Yvette Cooper over second homes. The minister is quite right to eschew the clamour for a tax on what is an important part of the economy of the South West.
The connection between second homes and a lack of affordable housing is, to say the least, tentative. As the UK becomes ever more prosperous, it is predictable that the prosperous will want to live in the most beautiful part of the country, the west.
