Thousands of proud loved ones witnessed the heroes of 40 Commando receive their operational service medals to honour their arduous and bloody six-month tour in Afghanistan.

It was a proud day for 450 men of 40 Commando Royal Marines yesterday, who were awarded the medals for their deployment by Prince Phillip at Norton Manor Camp, Taunton, Somerset.
