A ONCE-thriving tarmac business has been officially revived at a Cornwall quarry with the award of a standards certificate enabling Castle Granite to pitch for major road surfacing contracts.

The company owns the Castle-an-Dinas Quarry at Ludgvan, near Penzance, and has re-established a tar coating plant to help it survive on what has become an uneven playing field.
