Nuclear waste from new reactors likely to be built in the UK will be up to seven times more hazardous than that produced by existing reactors, Greenpeace has warned.

Nuclear firm Posiva, which is responsible for managing the waste that will be produced by the European Pressurised Reactor (EPR) being built in Finland, said EPRs produce seven times as much hazardous iodine-129 than existing reactors, in its environmental impact assessment report.
