Two Westcountry businessmen have been recruited to advise on the future of public forests following the Government's aborted sell- off plan. Environment Secretary Caroline Spelman has called on the services of Sir Harry Studholme, a forestry commissioner who also owns and manages 650-acres of South West woodland, and Clinton Devon Estates' John Varley.
They will sit on a 12-strong independent panel examining future forestry policy, and will hold hearings across the country, the Government said yesterday.See the full content of this document
