Summary
A positive spin-off effect of reducing the risk of nitrate leaching during the winter following harvest was proved in research work on the fungicide Signum.
Carried out by BASF and ADAS, the research programme looked at Signum used in brassicas for disease control, which also clearly demonstrated that it reduced net greenhouse gas emissions per tonne of crop production. The work indicated that growers could make a saving in their N fertiliser expenditure through the use of Signum, said Dr Peter Berry of ADAS, who conducted the research.See the full content of this document
