The Government has been warned Britain is building up a repossession "crisis" as it emerged just one family in the South West has been saved from losing their home by a flagship initiative.

The Mortgage Rescue Scheme (MRS), which cost pounds285 million to put in place, was launched at the beginning of this year, with the Government saying it would reach its 6,000 target within two years.
