Summary


The fact that the South West has seen the biggest inward migration of people in Britain over the past ten years is bound to cause alarm in some quarters. There should, however, be no cause for panic simply on the basis of the figures - around 440,000 people.

This influx is testament to the attractiveness of our region to outsiders. They seek the lifestyle, the beauty of our environment, and the opportunities that they cannot find elsewhere. They also bring valuable skills, which help to bolster business and revitalise our communities.
