The humble Cornish pasty took centre stage yesterday as crowds gathered to mark its protected food name status.
Pasty Day, the celebration of Cornwall's iconic dish, took place in Padstow, where revellers fought for the Fastest Crimper in the West title, took part in traditional Cornish dancing and over- indulged in one of the county's most popular food products. Organised by the town's award-winning Chough Bakery and supported by the Cornish Pasty Association, the programme also included performances from Cornwall's very own sea shanty singers, The Fisherman's Friends.See the full content of this document
