Now the list of post office closures for Cornwall has been released, evidence is even stronger that this is an exercise planned from a desk by people with no understanding of life in rural areas, little understanding of their customers' needs and, in many cases, a rather weak understanding of geography.

In South East Cornwall the existing mobile post office is being withdrawn because of "insufficient usage" - i.e. customers don't like waiting in the rain for the van. In full knowledge of this, the new area plan is to replace 13 post offices with a number of new mobile services.
