The red-barbed ant (pictured above) is flourishing on one sunny spot on St Martins, in contrast to its fortunes elsewhere on mainland Britain. But thanks to a pioneering project, 300 of the miniature marvels -- officially one of Britain's most endangered species - are to be given a new home in Surrey.
