Last week I had a call from a friend who had been asked by a pony welfare charity to check out a report of a very sick pony on Bodmin. Piling the dogs in to the car we set off winding up the narrow lanes to finish up in a dead end on the edge of the moor only to find someone else just parking up in the only space. "Typical!" we cried, "Miles from anywhere and two people turn up at the same time!" One of the occupants of the car wandered over. "You haven't seen a sick pony have you?" We were on the same mission. She was a vet from Animal Health and was accompanied by a Trading Standards Officer having been called out by a member of the public who had tried to get the pony up but it was in pretty bad shape.See the full content of this document
