Two Seriously Injured As Post Lorry Crashes Into Hotel

Summary


Two people were seriously injured and a third had a lucky escape when a Royal Mail lorry was in collision with a car, a pedestrian and an historic hotel in Lyme Regis. The vehicle ploughed into the front of the 17th century Mariners Hotel in Silver Street shortly before 10am yesterday.

The lorry driver, from Bournemouth, and the pedestrian, understood to be in his 30s, were airlifted to hospital. Another local man, understood to have been in the hotel, suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
