Silvanus Trevail ; Huer's Call [Edition 2]

Summary


I FIRST heard of Silvanus Trevail when his prettily-roofed school building halfway down the Stennack in St Ives was scheduled for demolition in the heartless 1980s to build a new fire and police station.

After a huge community protest, the building was saved and still stands. He was a most obscure figure at that time but his story has been thoroughly explored since and he is being recognised as the mighty and typically Victorian figure he was.
