Talismanic skipper Terry Skiverton lashed home a left-foot drive from a corner to give Yeovil their first victory in nine outings in 2008 - but the Glovers left it late. It was deep into the three minutes of added time when Skiverton brought relief all round Huish Park, as Northampton Town were beaten by one goal to nil.

Manager Russell Slade was delighted that Yeovil got what they deserved from a match they dominated for long spells. But he fumed at referee Paul Melin, who denied a 73rd-minute penalty appeal by Yeovil after the former Northampton striker Andrew Kirk was brought down.
