Summary


On july 1, 2007, smoking in public places was banned and the resulting huddles of smokers outside pubs and bars has become an all too familiar scene.

Hospitals were targeted by the Department of Health to set an example to other public bodies to ban smoking from its premises as soon as possible, despite there being smoking shelters dotted around most campuses.
