Snp leader Alex Salmond said yesterday that he was preparing to lead a minority administration in the Scottish Parliament. Mr Salmond said his "working assumption" was that his party would not be able to form a coalition and would have to go it alone in government. The SNP won last week's Holyrood elections by the narrowest of margins and now has 47 MSPs compared to Labour's 46. But that leaves both parties well short of the 65 required for a majority - though the SNP could achieve that if party leaders could form a coalition with the Liberal Democrats who have 16 MSPs and the Greens, who have two.
HUNDREDS of inaccurate patient records have been created every day due to a fault on the controversial new NHS computer system, it was claimed yesterday. The problem affects patients in Greater Manchester who have hospital appointments booked via the online system.
