Cornishman Neil Edwards is relishing the prospect of the resumption of the 2007 county Championship campaign, when Somerset entertain Northamptonshire in a four-day game starting at the County Ground this morning.
During the last 12 months the 23-year-old opening batsman from Penzance has seen his cricketing career turn almost completely around. At the start of July 2006, Edwards had not played first- team cricket for 18 months for Somerset, but that all changed with the arrival of Justin Langer at the County Ground.
