South West to Lose One of Its Meps in Eu Shake-Up

Summary


The South West is to lose an MEP under a shake-up of the European Parliament.

At present seven politicians are elected by the region at Euro elections. But the UK's overall allocation of seats in Brussels and Strasbourg will be reduced by six, from 78 to 72, at the next elections in 2009.
