Sports Days Are a Must

Summary


At the recent European Athletics Championships in Gothenburg, Paula Radcliffe, the marathon runner, was asked why Britain was doing so badly in the medals table. She said it was because the sport was no longer taught or held in schools.

So I enquired with friends in Plymouth who have children of school age whether this was true. This turned out to be correct, and the reason given was that no one must be seen to lose.
