Summary
It is reported that there has been a big increase of poppy fields in Afghanistan for opium and heroin use despite the efforts and casualties suffered by troops from many countries, including Britain, under United Nations auspices.
The troops should be withdrawn and the UN arrange the spraying of the poppy fields from the air with long-lasting weedkiller The planes should be protected from ground attack by bulletproof material.
