A THREE-DAY winning streak for the FTSE 100 Index ended after bank stocks declined and miners retreated due to a stronger dollar.
The Footsie, which rallied 1 per cent on Monday, closed 29.6 points lower at 5285.8 as attention returned to the world's biggest economy.
