Superbug Rise in Hospitals

Summary


The number of patients who contracted a potentially fatal superbug has increased at four out of five Westcountry NHS hospital trusts.

The annual number of recorded clostridium difficile (C. diff) cases rose at rates above the national average - eight per cent - at NHS hospital trusts in Cornwall, Plymouth, South Devon and North Devon.
