For Shelley Fletcher, a move to the Pool Innovation Centre in November saw her establish her first commercial premises, after setting up her public relations business, Firegrass Communications, from home in April last year.

She said: "I didn't want to leave Cornwall, but I knew that I would not be able to grow a sustainable, customer-focused business from home. While it had been great in terms of keeping overheads low as a start up, I was limited in terms of space - there was nowhere for me to hold client meetings. With the office, I also had space to bring in someone to do the accounts and administration."
