Summary
One autumn evening four friends went conker picking in Low Shade Park. The boys were called Max, John, Tom and George. The forest smelt of burning wood from camp fires and the air was crisp. The forest leaves were brown and crunchy and whoever went into that wood will get the shivers.
When the boys were playing they heard a loud gunshot and then they saw a huge shape lunge out of the bush. Max climbed up a tree because he was scared. The wolf climbed up the tree to try and get Max's lunch box because it was full of meat. The others boys shouted "Holy Molly" and ran off. When the boys left Max didn't want to be on his own so he tried to wiggle down but he slipped on some wet sand from his shoe and fell down with a crash.
