An area of marshland reclaimed from a tidal estuary two centuries ago has been returned to saltmarsh following the completion of a Pounds 300,000 project to install a specially-designed tide gate.
South Efford Marsh on the Avon estuary at Aveton Gifford, near Kingsbridge, has been agricultural grazing land since the 18th century when a huge wall and earth bank was constructed to hold back the tides.See the full content of this document
